High Performance

What really sets the different Challenger trims apart is their power. Each trim type comes with a unique engine:

  • 3.6L Pentastar V6 – SXT and GT

Up to 303 horsepower

Up to 268 lb-ft of torque

  • 5.7L HEMI V8 – R/T

Up to 375 horsepower

Up to 410 lb-ft of torque

  • 392 HEMI V8 – R/T Scat Pack

Up to 485 horsepower

Up to 475 lb-ft of torque

  • Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 – SRT Hellcat

Up to 717 horsepower

Up to 656 lb-ft of torque

  • Supercharged 6.2L High-Output HEMI V8 – SRT Hellcat Redeye

Up to 797 horsepower

Up to 707 lb-ft of torque

While power is part of what makes the Challenger a high-performance vehicle, the rest is in its handling. The Challenger’s modern technology allows it to have responsive handling. Available and standard performance features include:

  • Active Exhaust System
  • Three-Mode Electronic Stability Control
  • Electronic Power Steering
  • Launch Control

The Challenger’s transmission is what lets you harness the engine’s power. The R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and SRT Hellcat come standard with a TREMEC six-speed manual transmission.

The standard transmission for the V6 models and the SRT Hellcat Redeye is the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. For even more control, you can opt for the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters so you can select the right drive mode as you go.

The transmission’s shifter is electronic, which allows for a smooth transfer and little effort. To get the excitement of a classic shifter, the electronic one provides both visual and physical feedback.

When you need to rein in all that power, you need the best brakes available. The 2020 Challenger has four options to choose from:

  • Sport Brake System: 12.6-inch vented rotors – standard on SXT
  • Performance Brake System: 13.6-inch front rotors and dual piston front sliding calipers – standard on GT, R/T
  • Brembo Four-Piston Brake System: 14.2-inch front and 13.8-inch rear vented/slotted rotors – standard on R/T Scat Pack
  • Brembo Six-Piston Brake System: 15.4-inch two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers – standard on SRT Hellcat, SRT Hellcat Redeye

Modern Technology

While classic cars are fun to drive, the current tech features available nowadays make them even more exhilarating. The Challenger has a touchscreen display that features Dodge Performance Pages. This app lets you customize the response settings for the engine, transmission, steering, and throttle.

To stay connected, you can get the available Uconnect 4C NAV. It will display directions on the impressive 8.4-inch touchscreen display, as well as allow hands-free calling.

Music can perfect any drive. To get the most out of your music, you can select the Alpine Audio Group. It comes with:

  • 9 Speakers
  • Subwoofer
  • 506-Watt Amplifier

To really push things to the limit, you can also go with the Harman Kardon Premium Sound Group. This group features:

  • 18 Speakers
  • Two Subwoofers
  • 900-Watt Amplifier

Challenger Style

While other muscle cars only focus on performance, the Challenger makes sure not to leave style behind. The interior of the 2020 Dodge Challenger is spacious and has the best available options, including:

  • Sport seats in a modern or retro design
  • High-performance seats that fit the contour of your body
  • Accent stitching with the iconic Scat Pack Bee logo or SRT Hellcat logo
  • Ventilated and heated front seats

To really get the look you want, you can pick from five steering wheel options.

Classic touches are incorporated into the modern feel with things such as the Heritage Tic-Toc-Tach gauges. These details bring back the nostalgia of classic muscle cars.
